Chat Session 6

Hello everyone, it’s going to be a scorcher here today (23rd) with temperatures expected to be at least 43c. It is already quite warm at 10.50am, and I’m about to have an ultrasound on my right thumb. It’s been really painful for at least 6 weeks, and I had a 2 week wait to get in for today and find out what’s going on.

I have been doing quite a lot of photo editing over the last few weeks, to sharpen up all the new abstract pieces I have done, and this coming Monday is my first ‘cataract surgery’ and while I am looking forward to better eye sight I am really getting quite nervous. That said I can’t wait to get back to painting and being able to take good IN-focus photos as well.

I’m also hoping to get these recent abstracts sealed before the big day. So far the weather has been either too hot or too windy to use my preferred spray sealant. There are still a few days left so fingers crossed.

So in the mean time-

An Art piece up grade.

The first 2 are the result of being not quite happy with the first image or its title- ‘Heavy Rain’. It’s an Acrylic on canvas, fluid pour with enhancement on second photo.

I added to this small Acrylic canvas, and gave it a new name. It is now ‘Under Sea Eruption’.

I hope you like its new look, I do. Let me know in the comments below. I helps me know that I am on the right track, or not, in terms of what people like with my art.

Some of my wildlife photos

seeds. Summer In Australia.

These two photos are from a couple of my days out and about chasing resources for my art. I just love these birds and they do come to visit our yard, which is so special for us.

Juvenile Magpies, having a fabulous time playing in our garden. BY Dianne Vagg. Australia 2023.

There are several species that come in. Frequently daily, all have a magic about them and the most amazing ability to make us laugh at their antics. It is such a pleasure to be able to share these with you

This next one is of the Cockatoo showing off, or Clowning around while the flock watch on. These birds are just plain devilish, always up to mischief, but so fun to watch.

And as a last surprise before I go today.

Koala recent visitor to our street tree.
Just hanging around.

We had the greatest pleasure to see this large Koala in the street tree at the front of our house recently. He stayed for four or five days while the weather was very hot, and waited until two days after the cool change before leaving us again. I had to put extra shallow water dishes out for the wildlife during the heat, just in case, but we didn’t see him/her come down.

We have only seen them here four times over twenty-four years with only one day stays before. It was obviously quite happy lounging around during the day when they usually sleep,(Not that it looked very comfortable up there.) then feeding in the evening, or overnight. We have had quite a lot of rain so the gum tree was supplying lots of lovely fresh shoots for it.

So, I hope you enjoyed these from my collection of thousands of shots. I would love to hear from you so feel free to drop me a line anytime.

Stay safe, stay well, and I will be back when I can see properly again. Cheers Dianne
